A short note

I am Romenick Garcia, a college Information Technology instructor with a passion for education, technology, and software development. I am interested in using technology to create innovative solutions that can improve academic and administrative processes in educational institutions. Aside from teaching, I am involved in software development and academic research, particularly in areas related to Information Technology education, artificial intelligence, and educational technology. I am also pursuing my graduate studies to further develop my knowledge and expertise. As an educator and technology enthusiast, I strive to continuously learn, innovate, and create practical solutions that can make a meaningful impact on students, educators, and the academic community.

UA SMARTPAY

SmartPay is a cashless campus payments platform for the University of the Assumption. It replaces cash at bookstore and canteen counters with RFID tap-to-pay, a digital wallet, POS, and inventory in one system for students, parents, store staff, and admins. Students and parents load wallets (in-store RFID or PayMongo QR Ph), spend with a tap or PIN, and track history. Staff run POS and stock. Admins manage users, RFID cards, parent approvals, reports, and canteen digital-cash turnover. The web app also ships as an Android client via Capacitor.

COMPUTER LAB REPORTING SYSTEM

Role-based reporting system for a school computer laboratory. Students and faculty submit hardware, software, facility, and cleanliness issues tied to a lab and workstation. Custodians triage those reports through verified, in progress, resolved, and closed, with rich notes on each case. Admins run user and lab management, publish a news feed, and review analytics they can export to PDF or CSV. Built with React, Vite, and React Router, with JWT auth, email OTP verification, and a same-origin API proxy in production.
